Emergency Eye Wash Stations
Emergency eye wash stations protect the eyes from chemical or biological exposure while working in the lab. Eye wash units are available from Thomas Scientific in various options, including eye wash bowls or portable eye wash kits. Some lab eye wash wall mounted stations have a dedicated water supply and spray nozzle to assist with carefully rinsing the eyes in case of an accident or emergency. Eye wash stations and safety showers within the lab should be easily accessible and marked. They should be located within a maximum distance of 10 seconds of travel time from any point in the lab where hazardous materials are used or stored. Some eye wash units are fixed directly into the water supply, and some are self-contained. Some may also have built-in eyewash solution dispensers for additional decontamination.
