Indicates petroleum products low temperature utility limit
- Conforms to ASTM D97, D2500 and related specifications
- Compact four-place portable chamber
- Mechanically refrigerated models with factory preset cold baths
Immerses four copper test jackets in suitable freezing mixtures at the required depth per ASTM specifications. Inlet and outlet connections promote circulation of refrigerated coolant from an external source.
Cloud and Pour Point Chamber
Chamber consists of steel housing with polyurethane enamel finish and a copper interior for corrosion resistance. Removable composition top plate and 1/2” cork insulation around interior aid in cold retention.
Chamber comes supplied with copper jackets, gaskets, disks, and thermometer holders for test jars and cooling bath. Test jars and thermometers must be ordered separately.
Mechanically Refrigerated Baths
Bench and floor model test units feature four jacket mechanically refrigerated baths, each factory preset at different temperatures for convenient cloud and pour point testing. Bench models have three baths set at +30°, 0° and -30°F (-1°, -18° and -35°C). Floor models have four baths set at +30°, 0°, -30° and -60°F (-1°, -18°, -35° and -51°C). Each bath has a phenolic top plate with ports for thermometer and four copper test jackets. Synthetic sponge covers each top plate and gasketed hoods over each bath prevent excessive ice accumulation around the test jackets. Cascade hermetic refrigeration system provides reliable long-term service. Floor models ride on swivel casters.
