Programs are supplied on a 3.5” disk. The programs are designed to be user-friendly (they are accessed through a convenient menu system) and are provided with a detailed operator’s manual. The calculations performed include the following:
- Blending of oils- the W.A. Wright Blending Method and the ASTM D 341 Chart Blending Method
- Kinematic viscosity calculations- allows the estimation of kinematic viscosity (cSt), viscosity (cP) and density of an oil at any temperature
- Determination of Viscosity Index- calculates the Viscosity Index after entering the kinematic viscosity at any two temperatures
- Conversion of Saybolt Universal Seconds (SUS) and Saybolt Furol Seconds (SFS) viscosity to kinematic viscosity (cSt)
- Conversion of kinematic viscosity (cSt) to SUS or SFS viscosity
- ISO VG Lubricant Specifications and SAE Viscosity Grades for Engine Oils
- Cold-Cranking Simulator calculations-simplifies calculation of calibration coefficients and calculations involving thermistor temperature probes
- CANNON Mini-Rotary Viscometer calculations-allows calculation of apparent viscosity and yield stress of samples
Features the initiation of calculations by clicking on icons; a button bar allows rapid selection of functions; expanded, context-sensitive Help screens; and the ability to open multiple windows containing multiple calculations. Interpolations can be made for up to 1,000 intervals. A Viscosity Calculation Desktop incorporating the data used may be saved to disk. Operator can add extensive notations to each Viscosity Calculation Desktop file. Windows version includes a Visdisk mouse pad.
System Requirements: Windows 3.1, Windows 95®, Windows 98 or Windows NT and a 386SX or better computer with at least 4 megabytes of memory, keyboard, 3.5-inch floppy disk drive and optional printer.
